I created this blend to make your life easier, especially for flavoring your paellas and, of course, your fish dishes. It contains 10% saffron and everything necessary to give your paella its distinctive taste and beautiful yellow color. It’s the high proportion of saffron that gives it its price!...
One level teaspoon of this blend contains about 3.50g of spices, and therefore around 0.35g of pure saffron. This amount will be enough to flavor a paella dish for 4 to 6 people, depending on your taste.
The name "paella" comes from a Spanish word meaning "pan." Logical, after all...!
It is a traditional dish made with round rice, originating from the Valencia region in Spain. This dish is emblematic of Spain and its fame has long surpassed the country’s borders! Depending on the recipe’s origin and personal taste, its ingredients can vary nearly infinitely.
The dish appeared in the 18th century in the Valencia region, but it was only after the Spanish Civil War (1936/1939) that the country, to promote tourism, chose to highlight this dish, initially due to the low cost of its main ingredient, rice, and also because of the red colors of the bell pepper and tomato, which, together with the yellow saffron rice, actually reflect the colors of the Spanish flag.
